The Adoption Center and Lost and Abandoned Shack both have posts in them that will tell you something you'll probably like to hear: free-for-all, sort of. I hope our members will check them out and give these pokemon good homes. :] And Kairuu Kolme is almost finished! Mark your calenders: August 1st.

In case you haven't noticed yet, Kairuu is being completely redone on a brand-new Proboards server, and its URL will not be released until Kairuu Kolme is completed, and even then, only through Private Message to those who are interested in joining from this site. Alli and I are working as quickly and efficiently as we can to make the place better than before, and hoping that this time, no problems present themselves. One thing I want to tell you about right now is that Kairuu Kolme is stricter than this place, with new limits and additions to rules, etc. Don't bother making an account on this site unless you plan on joining the new site, and even then, don't bother at all unless you plan on being active and complying to a set of brand-new rules. Hope to see you on our new site,

A new leveling chart has replaced the old, as it was brought to my attention that not everyone is enthusiastic about the idea of spending that much time training their Pokemon; thanks to Alli for creating a table depicting level gain per battle. This goes for Wild encounters, NPC trainer battles, and Member vs. Member battles! To read it over, click here to do so. Thanks again, Alli~!

A new Other Area, titled Kairuu SpaceTime Festival Grounds, has been added! Hmm, isn't this odd? Something sinister is on the air, and it feels as though something is definitely going to happen during one of Kairuu's oldest traditions. Will you join in on the festivities? Note that this might be one of your few chances to sight a Legendary Pokemon!

The rules under 'Some Things To Know' have been updated concerning the amount of Pokemon you are allowed to carry with you; check it out, you won't be disappointed. ;D

Yeah, I know these updates are few and far between, but there isn't much to talk about, really. The site is coming along very nicely, with a whopping 40 members as of today! I'd like to say once more that, since our Mod list is very small, there are still openings for active posters who think they can help out a bit. ;D Don't be shy, now.

This is a guideline for battling and leveling up your companions. Read over carefully, for you'll get confused if you do not. Heaps of thanks go out to Alli for creating the chart. ;D

Rare Candies
Of course, if you obtain Rare Candies, you may also feed those to your Pokémon to help them level up. Each Rare Candy corresponds to 1 level gained.

Those of you that play the Pokémon games must know that Pokémon can only make one move per turn; I've warped it slightly to make it more interesting.

I. Deal Damage.
You may choose to use a so-called 'damaging' attack to use on your opponent. These attacks are either direct or indirect, and you may only use ONE per turn. Examples of these kinds of attacks are Tackle, Quick Attack & things like Ice Beam and Flamethrower.

II. Divide and Conquer.
This tactic is a tad different. You can use a combination of a distracting attack + a damage-dealing attack. Such combinations are things like Swords Dance + Slash, Leer + Tackle, Sand Attack + Scratch, etc. You can also combine attacks that heighten your own stats, such as Howl + Tackle, Meditate + Confusion, etc.
It's up to you to use your noggin and come up with these tactics.

III. Shield and Heal.
This category includes attacks considered 'Uber-moves'; things like Recover, Protect, Detect, etc.
You may use ONE of these per turn, to a maximum of three times per battle. Note that Recover and Protect are one-Pokemon use only (meaning you cannot use Recover on another Pokémon to heal it.)
Of course, if you're in a double battle (TWO VS. TWO), you may have one Pokémon use Recover, etc. while the other Attacks. Simple as that.

IV. Items Are a Trainer's Best Friend.
You may also, if you choose to do so, use up a turn to employ an item in the midst of a battle. These include things like Potions, Revives, Full Heals, and Stat Boosters.
Of course, it's ONE Item per turn, and you completely forfeit your ability to attack during this turn if you choose to use an Item.

V. Avoid and Retaliate.
If you have to, you may have your Pokémon dodge one attack, and then strike back with a move of its own. Don't overdo it, though. This is all about creativity. Any Pokémon can successfully dodge up to THREE times before being hit.

VI. Ye Olde Switcheroo and Do.
You may withdraw your active Pokémon (be if fainted or not), and bring in another, AND let the new Pokémon attack. Of course, excessive switching is considered cheating, and it will not earn you levels.

VII. Watch and Learn.
Say you have an Abra or a Ralts, and you really want one of them to gain levels, but they have no proper moves to battle with. (Abra doesn't learn Confusion until it evolves into Kadabra, and Ralts doesn't learn it until level 6.) This means you can bring it out to be a sideline helper. A sideline helper is a Pokémon that assists the main active Pokémon by employing moves such as Growl, Leer, or Sand Attack to help the main Pokemon, and gain some experience in the process. It's a fairly useful thing to do, especially if you want that Ralts to become a Gallade some day.

So, now you see that a Pokémon battle can become exciting and fun just by employing a few of these tactics; you can even raise your Pokémon to become a certain strategist with these!
